This painting has two names Misty Sunset and Moonlight on Water because my skills have moved on and I added so much tweaking that it merits a new name. I started by just touching up a few spots where I thought the colour could be improved, and it soon became clear that it needed more expressive brushwork and a complete review of the palette. I settled on warm tones of purple and blue with some very warm pink and cadmium red glimpses.
When I returned to painting after many years working in different modalities, this is the kind of painting I wanted to create. When I had finished today I sat back with a great feeling of satisfaction knowing that all my learning has paid off.
